The Road to Healing Begins Here
Erica Gentry, LCSW
Who am I?
A passionate advocate for mental health who wants to help you realize that you can overcome any challenging season in life.
I want you to put yourself first.
Maintaining your mental health is one of the most important forms of self care, and no one can take care of you better than you. Your challenges can sometimes be at the forefront of your life. Because of that, it can cause you to be alive but not living. I want to help you live again. I want you to get back to doing the things you love and the things that make you happy. Throughout your mental health journey, I want to help you get to the place where you put yourself first.
I want to help you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in the state of Tennessee. I earned a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University in 2007, and master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 2010. My education, along with my 20+ years of experience in youth development and mental health, have prepared me to fulfill my life’s mission of helping others during the most vulnerable stages in their lives.
I want to be your advocate.
My therapy services are not limited to one approach, and I strive to provide an environment that is inclusive to the needs of every person. In order to achieve this desire, I pursued diverse educational training and experiences that would expand upon my current knowledge. I have worked on a community based project in Mexico and with the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency Study. I also have experience working with youth development, foster care, trauma informed care, the Public Defender’s office, and in the school social work setting. All of these opportunities have given me insight into a world outside of my own. My desire is to serve you. No matter who you are. No matter where you come from. Everyone needs someone to help them through whatever they may be facing along their life’s journey.
I want you to overcome.
Life is hard. The challenges that life brings are harder. What can be even harder? The decision to seek therapy to help you overcome life’s challenges. There is a stigma around therapy that I want to erase. Your ability to seek therapy is a sign of your strength. Not one of weakness. With this decision, you are choosing to take accountability for your mental health. Through this process, you will overcome. Together, we will journey through life’s challenges – one step at a time.
If you’re ready to put yourself first and overcome, I’m here to help you.
